What is the effect of exclusion of a party to a claim?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Martin v. Toronto Dominion Bank (No. 2), 1985 CanLII 2508 (SK QB):

I recognize that in certain instances a party will be excluded. However, this invariably has been for cause and involved the exclusion of a co-plaintiff or co-defendant. See Basu v. Bettschen et al., 1975 CanLII 821 (SK QB), [1975] 5 W.W.R. 754. These considerations do not apply herein.
