Damages under this head may be awarded, even where the housekeeping services were gratuitously replaced by a family member and the plaintiff has not incurred any out-of-pocket expense. Recovery may be permitted for the loss of the ability to perform household tasks before trial, and into the future: Dykeman v. Porohowski, 2010 BCCA 36 at para. 28.
