Before the enactment of section 62, the district court derived its appellate jurisdiction from former section 63 of the Guam Code of Civil Procedure. Section 62 refers to "Supreme Court" jurisdiction because the Guam legislature wanted to transfer appellate jurisdiction from the district court to the Guam supreme court by replacing former section 63 with section 62.
