In Hodgkinson v. Simms, supra, the plaintiff stockbroker had hired the defendant accountant to provide tax advice. Acting on the defendant’s advice, the plaintiff purchased real estate investments that led to heavy losses. The defendant had not disclosed that he acted for the developers of those investments.
