British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Marcena v Thomson, 2019 BCSC 1287 (CanLII):

The purpose of costs of future care is “to restore, as best as possible with a monetary award, the injured person to the position he would have been in had the accident not occurred”: Gignac v. Rozylo, 2012 BCCA 351 at para. 29. The test for determining this award is an objective one, based on medical evidence.
