What is the test for a chiropractor to be legally acceptable?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Wallace v. Zradicka, 2006 BCSC 1166 (CanLII):

Chiropractic practice is a regulated profession in the Province of British Columbia. Thus, in determining whether or not a health practitioner's conduct has been legally acceptable, significant deference should be shown towards the standards set by the profession's own regulating body. Further, in ter Neuzen v. Korn, supra, at para. 38, Sopinka J. stated this concept succinctly when he stated: It is generally accepted that when a doctor acts in accordance with a recognized and respectable practice of the profession, he or she will not be found to be negligent. This is because courts do not ordinarily have the expertise to tell professionals that they are not behaving appropriately in their field. . . .
