What factors will the court consider in a shared parenting case?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Visser v Visser, 2019 BCSC 1856 (CanLII):

In a shared parenting regime, the court is required to undertake an analysis of the factors set out in s. 9 of the CSG: Dyck v. Bell, 2015 BCCA 520 at para. 30. The “set-off” approach in s. 8 of the CSG is a “useful starting point”: Contino v. Leonelli-Contino, 2005 SCC 63 at para. 41. The amount of the child support order is the difference between the amount that each spouse would otherwise pay if a child support order were sought against each of the spouses: CSG, s. 8.
