What is the law in law to determine the father's income for 2018 based almost entirely on interest and dividend income only?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from C.V. v. S.G., 2019 ONCJ 159 (CanLII):

It is incorrect in law to determine the father’s income for 2018 based almost entirely on the father’s interest and dividend income only. The court has a duty to ensure that a child support order reflects the parent’s true income. The fundamental principle is that the court must estimate the actual means which the paying parent has available for child support. See Manis v. Manis, [2000] O.J. No. 4539 (S.C.J.)
