In Terry v. Ohio, supra, 392 U.S. 1, the court considered whether police can detain a person briefly for investigation. The court concluded such seizures are lawful where the officer has sufficient articulable facts from which an officer with the same experience would reasonably conclude that criminal activity may be "afoot."
