And, as noted before, subject to certain exceptions not relevant here, the bankrupt is released from all “claims provable” in bankruptcy upon being discharged: “Section 178 (2) [of the BIA] is clear: a creditor cannot compel the debtor to pay a debt that was released on discharge” (Alberta v. Moloney, supra at para. 66).
