British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Sloane v. Hill, 2008 BCSC 1931 (CanLII):

On the authority of Athey v. Leonati, 1996 CanLII 183 (SCC), [1996] S.C.J. No. 102, treatment reasonably undertaken, notwithstanding it might be later determined to have been unnecessary or even, as there, catastrophically damaging, will be held to be within the consequences attributable to the original tortfeasor.
