Thus, if a complainant wishes to pursue an alternate process, such as a formal complaint or grievance, the proper course is to file a complaint in a timely manner and request that the complaint be deferred pending the outcome of the other process, under s. 25 of the Code: Segal v. Active Fire & Safety Services and another, 2014 BCHRT 252.
