Can a husband who has agreed to pay spousal support without the benefit of legal counsel argue that when he signed an agreement to pay support, when he did not have the legal counsel?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Jeffrey v. Doran, 1996 CanLII 10602 (AB QB):

In Wrobel v. Wrobel, supra, the applicant argued that when he had agreed to pay spousal support he did have the benefit of legal counsel. That argument was rejected by the court because the lack of legal counsel predated the existing order and therefore did not amount to a change in circumstances.
