Unless the contrary becomes apparent, a driver is entitled to assume that other drivers will obey the rules and is permitted to rely on that assumption in deciding whether or not an oncoming vehicle constitutes an immediate hazard: Pirie v. Skantz, 2016 BCCA 70 at para. 39.
