The factors to be considered in determining whether a retroactive award of child support is appropriate were set out in D.B.S. v. S.R.G., 2006 SCC 37. A similar analysis applies in determining whether an award of retroactive spousal support is appropriate: see Kerr v. Baranow, 2009 BCCA 111 at para. 87.
