When will the Attorney General waive the issue of direct restitution?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. White, 55 Cal.App.4th 914, 64 Cal.Rptr.2d 245 (Cal. App. 1997):

First, we agree with the Attorney General that the issue is not properly before us on appeal. White raised no objection to either the amount or the manner of payment of direct restitution. Accordingly, the issue is waived on appeal. (People v. Gibson (1994) 27 Cal.App.4th 1466, 33 Cal.Rptr.2d 217.)
