The object of section 694(a) is to restrict the width of loads to reasonable limits so that such loads shall not protrude over the center line of a highway or over other traffic lines in such a way as to interfere with other vehicles which are in their proper places and are properly using the [147 Cal.App.2d 195] other parts of the highway.
