"'On appeal, a trial court's orders concerning the appointment of counsel for an indigent defendant are reviewed for abuse of discretion. [Citations.] A court abuses its discretion when it acts unreasonably under the circumstances of the particular case. [Citation.]' [Citation.]" (People v. Mugia (2008) 44 Cal.4th 1101, 1125-1126.)
