The benefits conferred under a pension system by changes which are made from time to time prior to the adoption of an amendment imposing a detriment 'have no bearing upon the reasonableness' of the detriment so imposed. Abbott v. City of Los Angeles, 50 Cal.2d 438, 326 P.2d 484, 490; such benefits become a part of the vested rights of the employees when conferred.
