What is the test for judicial review of a determination of indigence by the public defender?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from Conservatorship of Berry, 210 Cal.App.3d 706, 258 Cal.Rptr. 655 (Cal. App. 1989):

The enactment of section 27707 thus provides for the judicial review of the public defender's determination of indigence. (Roswall v. Municipal Court (1979) 89 Cal.App.3d 467, 471, 152 Cal.Rptr. 337.) This review is apparently discretionary, as section 27707 provides that the court may make the final determination of eligibility for representation by the public defender.
