Because there was no misconduct, there was nothing for defense counsel to properly object to. Accordingly, defendant cannot meet the first prong of the test for ineffective assistance of counsel, that counsel's performance fell below an objective standard of reasonableness. (People v. Price (1991) 1 Cal.4th 324, 440.)
