What is the test for failing to provide a reasonable probability that defendant would have obtained a more favourable result if counsel had failed to provide counsel with reasonable counsel?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from The People v. Boss, B218392, No. GA071626 (Cal. App. 2010):

In short, with respect to both of counsel's alleged failings, defendant fails to demonstrate that counsel's performance fell below an objective standard of reasonableness and that, even if counsel's performance was somehow deficient, there is a reasonable probability that defendant would have obtained a more favorable result in the absence of counsel's failings. (Strickland v. Washington (1984) 466 U.S. 668, 687-694.)
