We presume the trial court was aware of and followed the applicable law. (People v. Sullivan (2007) 151 Cal.App.4th 524, 549; Evid. Code, 664.) Moreover, defense counsel argued the applicable standard of review at the hearing and in his motion. For the reasons stated above, the jury's verdict is supported by substantial circumstantial evidence, and we therefore conclude the trial court did not abuse its discretion in denying defendant's motion for new trial.
