Defendant filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus on January 30, 2017. Defendant contends he received ineffective assistance of counsel at trial. Defendant has not shown that his appointed trial counsel was ineffective, i.e., either that her representation fell below an objective standard of reasonableness or that he was prejudiced by any alleged deficiencies in her performance.
