Only relevant evidence is admissible. (Evid. Code, 350.) Although "'there is no universal test of relevancy, the general rule in criminal cases [is] whether or not the evidence tends logically, naturally, and by reasonable inference to establish any fact material for the prosecution[.]'" (People v. Freeman (1994) 8 Cal.4th 450, 491; Evid. Code, 210.) When the relevancy of evidence depends on the existence of a preliminary fact, the party proffering the evidence bears the burden of producing adequate proof of the preliminary fact. (People v.
