The crimes of felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition ( 29800, subd. (a)(1), 30305, subd. (a)(1)) require proof the suspect has previously suffered a felony conviction, and the suspect has actually or constructively possessed a gun or ammunition with knowledge of the item's existence.
