Welch challenges the sufficiency of the evidence supporting his conviction. When a defendant challenges his conviction based on insufficiency of evidence, we must determine "whether, after viewing the evidence in the light most favorable to the prosecution, any rational trier of fact could have found the essential elements of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt." United States v. Temple, 447 F.3d 130, 136 (2d Cir. 2006) (quoting Jackson v. Virginia, 443 U.S. 307, 319 (1979)).
