What is the standard of review on the admissibility of evidence in a sexual assault case?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Leavitt, F059367, Super. Ct. No. MF49347 (Cal. App. 2011):

On appeal, we apply an abuse of discretion standard of review to any ruling by a trial court on the admissibility of evidence. (People v. Waidla (2000) 22 Cal.4th 690, 724.) Based on our review, we conclude the trial court did not abuse its discretion in admitting this evidence.
