The following excerpt is from People v. Ho, 237 Cal.Rptr.3d 120, 26 Cal.App.5th 408 (Cal. App. 2018):

We review the trial court's determination regarding the relevance of evidence and whether its prejudicial effect outweighs its probative value for an abuse of discretion. ( People v. Horning (2004) 34 Cal.4th 871, 900, 22 Cal.Rptr.3d 305, 102 P.3d 228.)
