What is the difference between a plaintiff and plaintiff in a personal injury action brought by a husband who assaulted his wife while she was working at Market Basket?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from Murphy v. Workers' Comp. Appeals Bd., 150 Cal.Rptr. 561, 86 Cal.App.3d 996 (Cal. App. 1978):

Another vital difference is that in the present case one of the causes of the attack was the husband's feelings about his wife working at Market Basket. He did not want her to work there and had taken steps to force her to quit. Failing that, he attempted to have her fired. Her continued insistence on working was a substantial motivating force behind her husband's actions. (Ross v. Workmen's Comp. Appeals Bd., supra, 21 Cal.App.3d 949, 99 Cal.Rptr. 79.)
