The following excerpt is from Lewis v. Superior Court, 53 Cal.App.4th 1277, 62 Cal.Rptr.2d 331 (Cal. App. 1997):
The district attorney and his staff were personally affected by the bankruptcy. Previously promised pay raises were rescinded. The district attorney [53 Cal.App.4th 1284] and members of his staff who had invested in the county's deferred compensation plan faced potential losses. The status of a single deputy district attorney, as a victim of the charged crime was held to be sufficient to disqualify the entire office of the district attorney in People v. Conner, supra, 34 Cal.3d 141, 193 Cal.Rptr. 148, 666 P.2d 5.
