What are the implications of a motion for dismissal at the close of the prosecution's case-in-chief?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Icke, 214 Cal.Rptr.3d 755, 9 Cal.App.5th 138 (Cal. App. 2017):

6 Although Icke notes he moved for dismissal at the close of the prosecution's case-in-chief, he does not argue on appeal the trial court erred in denying that motion. Therefore, we consider all of the trial evidence when considering whether the evidence supports the conviction. (See People v. Cole (2004) 33 Cal.4th 1158, 12121213, 17 Cal.Rptr.3d 532, 95 P.3d 811.)
