What are the consequences of a juvenile court's dispositional order placing him on home detention after evading a police officer?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. A.B. (In re A.B.), A155145 (Cal. App. 2019):

A.B. appeals from the juvenile court's dispositional order placing him on home detention after he pled no contest to evading a police officer. Appellant contends insufficient evidence demonstrated he understood the wrongfulness of his conduct, the electronics search condition and various gang-related conditions are both unreasonable under People v. Lent (1975) 15 Cal.3d 481 (Lent) and unconstitutionally vague and overbroad, and imposition of a restitution fine without a judicial determination of his ability to pay violated his due process rights. We are not persuaded by these arguments and thus affirm.
