What are the consequences of a court finding that a motion brought by Attorney Defendants against Defendant Kendall was "frivolous and/or intended to harass"?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from Kleveland v. Siegel & Wolensky, LLP, 155 Cal.Rptr.3d 599, 215 Cal.App.4th 534 (Cal. App. 2013):

Relying on Childs v. PaineWebber Incorporated (1994) 29 Cal.App.4th 982, 35 Cal.Rptr.2d 93 ( Childs ), Attorney Defendants contend the court abused its discretion when it awarded Kendall his attorney fees and costs as sanctions because the court failed to provide specific facts to support its findings that the motion was frivolous and/or intended to harass Kendall. We disagree.
