The following excerpt is from People v. Edgerrin J. (In re Edgerrin J.), 271 Cal.Rptr.3d 610, 57 Cal.App.5th 752 (Cal. App. 2020):
The judgments in People v. Edgerrin J. (case No. J239465) and People v. Jamar D. (case No. J242137) are reversed, and the matters are remanded to the juvenile court with directions to vacate its order denying the motions to suppress and conduct a renewed suppression hearing, consistent with this opinion, to resolve credibility conflicts as to what the officers knew at the time they detained defendants. If the court again denies the motions to suppress, it shall reinstate the judgments; but if it grants the motions, it shall afford defendants an opportunity to withdraw their guilty pleas. (See Bowers, supra , 117 Cal.App.4th at p. 1274, 13 Cal.Rptr.3d 15.)
