The following excerpt is from Castro v. Castro (In re Marriage of Castro), E075113 (Cal. App. 2021):
Husband's remaining claims of bias are similarly unpersuasive and unsupported in the law, so they need not be summarized.[4] We have read the record and have concluded that the court showed great deference to husband and his counsel, giving him great leeway in introducing evidence in support of his defense. Husband's real problem was his own disingenuity and incredibility as a witness, as well as that of his mother, who
sacrificed her credibility in the defense of her son. But it is not evidence of judicial bias for a court to rule against a party. (See Thornbrough v. Western Placer Unified School Dist. (2013) 223 Cal.App.4th 169, 190, fn. 18.)
