What is the legal test for reopening a trial?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Cotter v. Point Grey Golf and Country Club, 2016 BCSC 9 (CanLII):

In Vander Ende v. Vander Ende, 2010 BCSC 597, the court confirmed that a trial judge has a wide discretion to reopen before the judgement is rendered. The considerations before the court are the relevance of the proposed evidence, the effect, if any, the reopening may have on the expeditious conduct of the trial at large and most importantly, whether the other party will be prejudiced if the reopening is allowed.
