What steps have been taken in the unjust enrichment analysis?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Gill v Gill, 2021 BCSC 270 (CanLII):

The steps in the unjust enrichment analysis concern first, whether the defendant has been enriched by the plaintiff and second, whether the plaintiff has suffered a corresponding deprivation. The third element of an unjust enrichment claim is that the benefit and corresponding detriment must have occurred without a juristic reason. (Kerr v. Baranow, 2011 SCC 10 at paras. 36 and 40)
