Is a time-limited Order of Support reasonable?

New Brunswick, Canada

The following excerpt is from Ryan v Brown, 2016 CanLII 35042 (NB QB):

I believe in all of the circumstances of this matter, and importantly the context of their relationship, that a time-limited Order of support is reasonable. In Moge v. Moge 1992 CanLII 25 (SCC), [1992] 3 S.C.R. 813, L’Heureux-Dubé J. at page 861 writes: “in cases where relatively few advantages have been conferred or disadvantages incurred, transitional support allowing for full and unimpaired reintegration back into the labour force might be all that is required to afford sufficient compensation.”
