Is a law firm entitled to transfer fees for the time required to put files in order for the benefit of a client's new solicitors?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Farber & Folk v. Diep and Diep, 2010 BCSC 1427 (CanLII):

Although counsel referred me to the case of Fellowes, McNeil v. Kansa[1]as authority for the proposition that a law firm is entitled to transfer fees for the time required to put files in order for the benefit of a client's new solicitors, I believe that case either ought to be distinguished or is, in fact, not applicable for a number of reasons.
