There is jurisprudence in a tort law context which defines “egregious” as behaviour which is a marked departure from normal behaviour including conduct that was “remarkable in a bad sense; gross, flagrant outrageous”: Brown v. Newton, 2010 CarswellNS 209 (N.S. Sm. Cl. Ct.), at para. 172.
