As Madam Justice Dillon noted in Custer v. Hui, 2006 BCSC 150 at paras. 13-14, the tort of inducing breach of contract has been described in various ways. In essence, it requires at minimum -- and it may require more -- that the defendant knew of the contract, intended to bring about a breach of the contract, and did so without justification, causing damage to the plaintiff.
