32 There is a cross appeal as to the prejudgment interest awarded by the trial judge. That interest was awarded on the whole of the award. The third party asserts, correctly, that prejudgment interest should only be awarded on that part of the award that represents damages between the date of death and trial. This assumes the assessment of the trial judge was as at the date of trial and not as at the date of death. See Killeen v. Kline (1982), 1982 CanLII 418 (BC CA), 33 B.C.L.R. 225 (B.C.C.A.).
