How has the Law Society of Upper Canada dealt with professional misconduct cases?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Law Society of Ontario v. Ranjan, 2019 ONLSTH 90 (CanLII):

The Society also referred to Law Society of Upper Canada v. Tollis.[4] In Tollis the lawyer admitted professional misconduct involving eight particulars, among them failure to appropriately serve clients by engaging in duress, coercion or harassment of clients, or taking advantage and charging unfair and unreasonable fees. The lawyer had a previous disciplinary history. He was suspended for 14 months, though the panel stated that it would have imposed a more severe penalty but for the precedent of Farant[5] and the character evidence presented.
