Is a service provider required to disclose the name and location of a residential home and the name of the service provider?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Chiomba v. A, 2011 BCHRT 298 (CanLII):

With respect to the application not to disclose the name and location of the residence, and the name of the service provider, I observe that the residential home only houses the two women. Accordingly, information about that particular location should not be disclosed in order to reduce the possibility of identification of the two women. Since it is not clear from the materials whether the service provider services more than that one location, information about the particular location in issue, including the name of the service provider, which may be contained in the complaint or in the complaint file, will not be disclosed: Musa v. Costco, 2009 BCHRT 271. The fact that the service provider had not previously requested confidentiality is not relevant to this determination.
