In considering the advantages and disadvantages to an accused person of the rule excluding hearsay, Lord Alverstone C.J. in Rex v. Thomson 1912 3 K.B. 19 at p. 21 said in considering the rule the rejection of hearsay evidence is much more in favour of an accused than the prosecution and such may be the case here.
