When is a driver’s right of way respected?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Singh v Chand, 2019 BCSC 932 (CanLII):

Drivers are generally entitled to assume others will obey the rules of the road. However, when a driver has the right of way, they “must still be alert to signs of danger, or to actual conditions suggesting that there may be a danger, in presuming the right of way will be respected”: Chang v. Alcuaz, 2011 BCSC 843 at para. 43.
