In what circumstances will the result of a by-election be declared void?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Hassen v. Collins, 1959 CanLII 190 (SK QB):

In the result, therefore, I find that of the nine votes under attack, five are qualified votes, entitled to have been cast, and counted, but four votes had no right to be cast and should not have been in the ballot boxes. Since these four votes offset the respondent’s majority, they do not affect the result of the election, and following Lamb v. McLeod, supra, I must declare the election void.
