The question then becomes whether he is entitled on non-compensatory grounds. In Yemchuk v. Yemchuk, 2005 BCCA 406, Prowse J.A. held that in long marriages, where each party has contributed their resources both economic and otherwise, an equality of standard of living , which may not be the same as equality of income, may be a just result (at para. 50).
