Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

The following excerpt is from R. v Francis (Sentence), 2019 CanLII 75329 (NL PC):

In Her Majesty the Queen v. Hannay, 2017 NBQB 153, the accused had committed a number of offences, including assaulting a peace officer by spitting on him. A joint submission for a total of 23 months was made, and endorsed, on the other offences. On the assault of the correctional officer by spitting, however, there was no joint submission. A sentence of 8 months, consecutive, was ordered for that offence.
